I’ve really forgotten just how much I love smoothies! It’s been far too cold these last couple of months to think about a refreshing, healthy smoothie when all you crave is warm, satisfying food. Many people start dieting in one way or another as their new year’s resolution, and getting back into a balanced, healthy food cycle is much easier than it sounds.
If you snack a lot and have a sweet tooth, smoothies are great for filling those frequent urges. They’re filled with natural sugars and antioxidants such as lemon juice, ginger and spinach to boost our energy levels and immune system.

For the perfect, healthy smoothie (which makes a great breakfast on the go), here’s what you’ll need:
1 ripe banana
1 green apple
1 large handful of spinach
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
Juice of a lemon
240ml milk of choice
I tend to substitute milk with water in my smoothies but, if you’re having this for breakfast, milk is far more filling and nutritious. Wizzing up these lovely greens only takes a second; it’s an incredibly quick and easy way to be and feel healthier.
