Product Review: Avene

I suffer really badly from oily skin and, from the oily skin, I’m getting more spots and blemishes by the day. It has literally become uncontrollable. I’ve tried many different brands and products; from Simple to Garnier, face wash, face cream, scrubs, cleansers. Nothing worked. I’d cleanse my face every night and I’d still wake up with skin shinier than the moon and a new spot every morning.

I’ve recently been recommended the Avene brand which I think is definitely an affordable new product to try. Avene is currently on offer at Boots with buy 1 get 2nd half price so it’s a great way to mix and match.

I’ve opted for the cleansing gel and mattifying moisturiser combo. Avene have a variety of difference product ranges depending on your skin type and what skin problems you suffer from the most and these two products are specificially from the blemish-prone skin range.

The Cleanance Cleansing Gel is a deep cleaner which isn’t limited to facial use, it can be used as a body gel too and tackles those areas which are most prone to breakouts. It leaves a really fresh, cleansed and soft sensation after use (I use it twice a day, morning and evening). After using the gel, I apply the Cleanance MAT Mattifying Emulsion which is a mattifying moisturiser particularly great for dry and oily skin as it controls shine. The bottle holds only 40ml but the product spreads very easily, has a light consistency and moisturises very well. It’s durability is also incredible; it lasts throughout the night, leaving my skin clean and shine-free in the morning.

The Avene skin care range is free of any harsh chemicals like soap or fragrants so it’s very healthy for the skin. This particular combination is great for controlling oils and preventing breakouts but Avene also have ranges available for those with dry and itchy skin, sensitive skin, dry skin, allergic, anti-ageing and even sun care products.

This is a definite recommendation from me; they’re promising products which deliver exactly what they claim they will and they’re very affordable.
